Biography

Born in 1952 in Kilumbu, where he lives. He is Vice-President of the Association of Popular Painters Artists of Kinshasa (AAPPA). In 1972, after losing his job, he returns to his greatest passion: painting. He starts as an apprentice in the studio of the painter Zamathuta. In 1976 he opens his own studio and he soon becomes one of the Congo’s most famous artists. He takes part in his first international exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, France in 1982. He has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in DRC and abroad.
