Sharmoofers is an Egyptian music band formed in 2011 by Ahmed Bahaa and Moataz El Demerdash. The band has gained immense popularity over the years due to its unique blend of electronic and traditional music. They have released several albums and singles, which have been well received by fans and critics alike. Style and Influences Sharmoofers’ style is a mix of traditional Egyptian music with modern electronic elements. Their sound has been described as a combination of modern pop and traditional folk songs. They are also known for their use of traditional instruments such as the qanun, oud, and tabla in their music. In addition to this, they draw influence from other genres such as hip hop, dancehall, reggae, and even jazz. Sharmoofers have won numerous awards over the years. In 2016 they won the Best Music Video Award at the Cairo International Film Festival for their song “Ya Habibi Taala”. In addition to this, they have been featured in several international publications such as Rolling Stone Magazine and The Guardian.
