Biography

Salah Elmur is a multi-talented contemporary Sudanese artist, known for his abstract yet emotionally expressive paintings. He incorporates bold colors and thick brushstrokes, influenced by the vibrant culture of Sudan. Elmur’s art encompasses various mediums including painting, filmmaking, photography, and illustration. His works have been showcased globally, from Egypt to the UAE, and even at the British Museum in London. Elmur’s exhibitions often draw inspiration from personal experiences, childhood memories, and Sudanese culture, featuring recurring themes like fruits, animals, and human figures. Additionally, he has directed award-winning short films and authored numerous children’s books, published in multiple languages.
