Rashid Ali is an architect and educator with extensive experience and broad interests in cultural context, urban design and the threshold between art and architecture. After gaining considerable practice experience, he established Rashid Ali Architects as a collaborative research studio to pursue themes and areas of interest through teaching, research and building.
Ali values the merit in combining practice with academia as such crosspollination stimulates innovation. He has held senior academic positions at the University of Liverpool, University of Nottingham and Manchester School of Architecture. Most recently, he was the founding Programme Leader in Interiors Architecture at the University of East London
