Born on the 8th August 1963 in Rotherham Yorkshire, United Kingdom, Neil arrived in South Africa, September 1967. Neil is self-taught and only recently began his quest to become a full-time artist when he moved to Stanford with his family in November 2014. Neil had just moved over from South Africa – he felt things had deteriorated severely over the last couple of years and was starting over in the United Kingdom. He left his wife and daughter back in South Africa while he intensely found work so that he was able to bring them over into a stable environment. Neil mentioned that he had been an incredibly successful artist, with artwork being commissioned by some high profile individuals in South Africa and internationally. Although living a fruitful life, Neil found himself in a precarious situation because of the political and economic climate in South Africa. He came to the United Kingdom for his family; for better opportunity. A man in his 50’s starting over is a feat in and of itself. Especially a man who is willing to go ahead of his family, in order to get life established.
