Born in Cairo, lives and works between Paris and Cairo.
His themes of photographic work, centered on Egypt, involve the Middle East and Africa, among others. Between 1990 and 1994, he undertook a series of portraits of Egyptians. In his journey, a permanence: the inhabited places and the night. The work on the rituals and daily life of the Copts (Christians of Egypt) presented at the Bamako Biennale in 2003 and published in 2007 is a reference. He continues his research on several themes in Egypt, including the concept of modernity. He devoted several works to it, exhibited in various museums and galleries, in France and abroad.
