Biography

Born in July 1989 in Blida (Algeria), he is preparing at the University of Mostaganem, a license in Arts, obtained in 2009 and a Masters in environmental design, obtained in 2011. He also began studies at the National School of fine arts of Mostaganem. The artist who made popular cafes his studio par excellence, and created the character of “The Yellow Man” in reference to “yellow laugh”, hypocritical laughter or “Dahka Safra”; this character will become his signature. In 2012, he works as an assistant in the workshops of great Algerian artists such as Denis Martinez and Ali Silem In 2013 he won the 3rd “Ali maachi” prize in painting. He regularly participates in outdoor workshops in remote regions, in direct contact with the youth and the population, such as the Raconte-arts festival in Kabylie and Tamanrasset. In 2014, he participated in the 3rd Mediterranean Biennial of Contemporary Art in Oran and in an artistic photography residency with Hocine Zaourar. From 2015, he began a career abroad, where he exhibited in various exhibitions and international contemporary art fairs in Europe, “the yellow man” became an icon, his paintings travel between Amsterdam, London, Paris, Brussels and Madrid. His works are included in the inaugural exhibition of the Musée d’art contemporain d’Oran (MAMO), in 2017.
