Biography

A recognized Czech photographer and a film documentary maker. She has been focusing on countries suffering from war, poverty and social problems since 2005. Amongst other issues, she has documented children prostitution in Ethiopia, the earthquake in Haiti, acid attacks in India, ironing of women’s breasts in Cameron, violence against women in Afghanistan or the frontlines in Iraq. For her collection of photographs from Ethiopia, Haiti, Iraq, Syria, Cameroon, Jordan, Ukraine and other countries she has been awarded many times in the Czech Press Photo competition and also in international photography competitions. She is also the co-founder of One Blood – a project designed to follow young talented people dedicated to Western subcultures (not only) in the third world countries. She documented a story of break-dancers in the Gaza Strip, of a young rapper from a slum in Uganda, of a female boxer named Taroth from Cambodia, of skateboarders of Bangladesh and of street artists of Iraq. She was awarded yet another prize in the video category for her short documentary about Afghani boys who do parkour in the prestigious Czech Press Photo competition, a year later she got the same award for her documentary about acid attacks in India. Now she is – amongst other things – filming her documentary about a girl burnt by acid and stories of the warriors against the Islamic State in Northern Iraq.
