However, Africa has never received a Michelin star badge since the award’s first edition. Congolese chef Dieuveil Malonga wants to change that.

He wants his restaurant Meza Malonga, located in Kigali, Rwanda to become the first Michelin star restaurant in Africa, and with that, draw more attention to the culinary scene across Africa.
