Didier Viode

Biography

Born in Ivory Coast and originally from Benin, DIDIER VIODÉ , began his studies at the National Higher Institute of Art in Abidjan, then continued them in France at a time when Ivory Coast was sinking into an impasse policy. During his research at the Beaux-Arts, he discovered the FLUXUS movement which advocates that everything is art. He then began to use insignificant materials in his work such as: cardboard, plastic, burlap, old newspapers which he glued directly to his various supports. His inspiration comes from the street, his environment, society and the media. He observes Man, the Immigrant, paints, photographs and films his daily life. Placing the human being at the heart of its concerns, its objective is to allow us to look at the world through its art. In 2016, through his series Les Migrants, ink on paper, he depicts migrants on the path to Hope, who brave the natural elements, death, indifference, contempt and flee the war in Aleppo in Syria, Iraq, Africa or elsewhere.
