Unearthing African Creativity

Africa Boku talent is the brain child of Dr. Peter Deji Osilaja. Inspired by the obvious richness of culture and diversity of the African Landscape.

The French word Boku was deployed as an ideal description of talent that abounds in Africa. The idea, to provide the ideal platform where individuals/ contestants can project their talents in all forms, thereby promoting the richness of the African talent perspective.

ABT is about the uniqueness of expression, a voice for the voiceless, and an embodiment of the relentlessness of the African spirit through the persevering nature of Africa.

Root and meaning

The ‘Boku’ in our name has French origin, meaning ‘very much’. Merci beaucoup. The word, boku, is weaved linguistically in many African cultures around the world, including in New-Orleans, USA.

Our Mission

There is great cultural diversity awareness emanating in society today. Its affect is present in the arts, now more than ever. The Internet and digital technology enable creativity to flourish at individuated and cultural levels while also increasing worldwide access for consumption. This must be encouraged as it has a way of further breaking barriers and bringing the world closer, amidst unprecedented worldwide migration.

What we offer

Our objectives at ABT are creating a forum for artist interaction, creating a database for rich African talents, providing access to consumers of arts.

Forum for artist interaction

The website should serve as a marketplace for Africa’s creative industry, emergent. A Forum for artists, creators and those who support them to interact, connect, share resources and information. It should also be a site where newly published arts or events are publicized.

Access to consumers of the Arts, African style

ABT should attract the lovers / consumers of arts, African style. It should be the go-to-location when there is a need to appreciate African arts and culture.

Encouraging creative endeavours amongst youths

Think about rap and the initial mainstream rejection. Rather than ignore, even criticize youths who give up on traditional approaches, college, job, etc., individuated pursuits, particularly in the arts should be encouraged.
